Merry Christmas Houstons!

Snow! on Christmas! yea!
Merry Christmas Houstons!

Mark 11:22-23
"And Jesus answering saith unto them, Have faith in God.
For verily I say unto you, whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou moved, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith."

the first snow of the year!

its snowing! i love the first snow of the year! its makes Christmas that much closer!
it's not just because it reminds me of sweet time with family, or yummy food... or giving gifts... it because it reminds me that my savior is awesome... and that this is the time we set aside to rejoice in his birth, and the reason he was born. i never want to lose focus on that...
i hear all the time on the radio, people saying that not hiving (fill in the blank) makes Christmas unhappy... or that people shouldn't have to go without on Christmas... well... i think of the fact that Christ was born without anything! i think i would be OK without anything.... as long as i didn't forget what he did for me! im not trying to put a damper on "Christmas spirit". i love to give gifts and such on Christmas!  i just had the thought "what IS real Christmas spirit?" why do i love Christmas?

i cant wait to share Christmas with my family! sitting down, and reading of Christ's wonderful birth! and enjoying sweet fellowship... (this year we are not opening gifts on Christmas day... we are doing it the day before. )

Newborn photos.

home school ideas!

James is learning his ABC's right now, and while i don't want to push him, id like to foster this early desire to learn...
i was wondering what you homeschooling moms have as far as info on preschool, and later grades.
tips, tricks, and ideas! :)

James loves the computer!  but i cant just use fisher prices website... he gets bored...

i need ideas...
what and why you use the curriculum you do... where you can get it... are there samples?
computer options?
i also wouldn't mind knowing what the rules are for homeschooling... unfortunately we missed that session at the conference...

i am not starting him in school yet! :) i just want to be well prepared...

this mornings devotions.

This morning James and I read
Psalm 116:

I love the Lord, because he hath heard my voice and my supplications.
Because he hath inclined his ear unto me, therefore I will call upon him as long as I live.
The sorrows of death compassed me, and the pains of hell gat hold upon me: i found trouble and sorrow.
Then called I upon the name of the lord: O LORD, I beseech thee. deliver my soul.
Gracious is the Lord, and righteous; yea, our God is merciful.
The Lord preserveth the simple: I was bought low, and he helped me.
Return unto thy rest, O my soul; for the Lord hath dealt bountifully with thee.
For thou hast delivered my soul from death, mine eyes from tears and my feet from falling.
I will walk before the Lord in the land of the living.
I believed, therefore have I spoken: I was greatly afflicted:
I said in my haste, all men are liars.
What shall I render unto the Lord for all his benefits toward me?
I will take the cup of salvation, and call upon the name of the Lord.
I will pay my vows unto the Lord now in the presence of all his people.
precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of his saints.
O LORD, truly I am thy servant; I am thy servant, and the son of thine handmaid: thou hast loosed my bonds.
I will offer to thee sacrifices of thanksgiving, and will call upon the name of the Lord.
I will pay my vows unto the Lord now in the presence of all his people.
In the courts of the Lord's house, in the midst of thee, O Jerusalem. Praise ye the Lord.

after working from 2am till 7:30 am, he was pretty tired!
so tired that he poured himself a bowl of coffee! yes, a bowl!  he picked up a bowl and poured the coffee in to it like cereal.. (by accident of course)
it was a great laugh!

So Good I Forgot What It's Called!

Philemon and I recently went to olive garden, and i tried a new dish...
i loved it!  it was so good that i forgot the name because i was smelling and tasting all the ingredients... i wanted to try to make it at home!

well... i did try to make it at home! and i must say... if i had the roasted garlic (we are out), it would have been better than what i had at olive garden!

im also sooo glad Philemon taught me how to make white sauce! it is sooo easy!

step one: make a Parmesan, and roasted garlic white sauce.

step 2: "grill" chicken cutlets (i only had whole chicken so i cut them up) in olive oil, and salt.

step 3: cut, and saute' bell peppers in olive oil and salt.

while doing step 3 boil noodles * angel hair pasta *. (i did this first and they got over cooked ) haha!

The end result.... a yummy fast dinner that i dont know the name of :)

update

i am already seeing good things after james tubes were put in. he is correcting himself and getting some words right, he is also wantingt to talk alot more, on his own. and repeating just about everything he hears... (and trying at it, and getting close to what it sounds like)

i think i like age 2! james is becomming so sweet, and helping. he is such a good boy... through this flu we had, when i wasnt feeling well, i laid my head in his lap and he just played with my hair... like daddy does, and says "you ok?" it melted my heart! philemon is such a good daddy.! he is showing our boys how to be kind and caring!
he also has been noticing when i am cleaning house, and starts to hand me things to put away, or will even try himself! he is learning so fast!
i love being a mom... one of the things i love is watching james do the things i remember doing as a kid... like taking a 3 door medicine cabnit (the ones with mirrors) and putting his face inbetween too of the door and seeing all the james's that is creates.

a photo i found that was cute! he knows how to get what he wants! ha!
