ive been crafting!

I made myself, probably the most expensive skirt ever!
i had a pair of $90 jeans i bought when i was thin, and had money all to myself... they were specially made for my short legs! HA! well, they just didn't fit right any more... (having kids might have a tad to do with this) Being incredibly low on skirts, i decided they would fit better as a skirt... and they do! see?! i have a $90 skirt! whew! it took me an hour. but its one of the nicer skirts I've made (as far as jean goes)
'

they are extra special too, cuz the middle is a leg from one of philemons jeans! every time i wear it i will think of him!

i also have been making baby shower gifts for those who have, or will have new girls!
if you are getting rid of any really clean onsies... this is what i do with them! so ... pass em on! and they will be a new item! (i really wish i had a girl of my own! hehe! it would be so fun!

i call it my onzie dress.. its a skirt, shirt, and diaper cover all in one! HA!

here is the post of my latest craft!
Zipper flowers!

i found this, and i loved making them! so its a new craft for me!

materials= thread, needle, scissors, and a zipper. (it is best if the sipper is 18'' or longer)
one sipper makes 2 flowers.

step one= unzip the zipper! :o

one half will be one flower :)

Step 2= cut the end zipper and all, off.

Step 3= roll the opposite end (the uncut one) to make the center of the flower... (it should look like a rose bud center)

note! you will be sewing on the fabric end, the teeth to the zipper makes the edge of the flower.

stitch it together so it does not come loose...

NEXT... baste stitch a few times along the length of the zipper half. (about 1/2 inch)
(this will create the ruffle in the "petal"

then bring it together at the center  where you began

keep doing this, basting, and bringing together all the way around... then keep going around, (bot all in the center, add it to petals.. its a little confusing, but its just gathering, then stitching it around and around...)

when you have finished and are at the end... fold the end under and stitch through he center...
then knot it in the back... and you're done!

i chose to make a head band for a baby shower gift... (it is also made from a zipper, and some elastic)

i prefer the metal zippers because they make the flowers edge glitter.

and for the record... im sorry about the ugly nail pollish! it lasts about 2 days then starts peeling!
and, i do NOT have too much time on my hands :) this is one day where i was all caught up on house work, and spent the whole day crafting, and changing the boys diapers, oh and feeding them! (they love the one day i craft, cuz its the one day that they get to watch as many movies as they want.)

until the next post! (which will probable be a while, as i have alot of dr appt so set up for myself! YEA FOR INSURANCE! )
