i know that some kids are smarter than mine. so im not bragging about much! but i love to see them learn something new! that involves using your brain! there is rolling over, and sitting up, and stnading! which i guess it uses some of your brain to use the muscles the right way... but i mean the thinking part of your brain! (the part i lost after my first child! HA!)
James now knows that his kitty magnet is a "KIIITTAAAY!", and his dog magnet is a"DO-OG".
while he cannot say rabbit, he knows which magnet is the rabbit... we are working on the duck magnet next... right now duck sounds like dog, so James just looks at me like im getting it wrong... then grabs the dog magnet and says "DO-OG"
(for some reason he pauses in the middle of the word!:)
He also finally figured out where each of his animal magnits go and how to fit them into their spot on his doodle board. (something i have been waiting for some time now!) ive tried to get him to do wodden puzzles, and for the longest time he would just throw them at me :) hehe, or chew on them... so, this doodle thing we bought him has been working out nicely... he loves to draw, and he is learning new things with it! i also think playing more with him individually (now that i have more time) has helped with learning! im just super excited to see him learn things! i have also noticed that he likes to make me happy... when he sees his doodle board, he runs to it, makes sure i am watching, and starts showing off what he knows, they yells "yea!" and looks for praise! I am so blessed! i love my boy...
(Jonathan is learning too, but today im writing about james:)
You're doing an awesome job with them! Now, if James can just learn to say, "Mrs. Potvin", I'd say he was a genius! LOL I still have the wooden puzzles from when Ricky and Benjy were little like James... they loved them!... So did I... lots of quiet time! :) Enjoy these days. Hugs, Grace
